Bendito Señor, Santo Padre/Madre/Creador

de todo lo que es, visto y no visto,

Por tus “pequeños” que no vemos.

Por los cautivos y prisioneros, y por los que los aman;

Por los perdidos y los robados,

Por los escondidos, traficados y esclavizados;

Para aquellos abrumados por la enfermedad, la desesperación,

y la pobreza;

Por los mansos y los oprimidos,

Por aquellos a quienes se les niega la justicia y la misericordia,

Por los leprosos de esta Era,

Señor, escucha nuestra oración.

 

Abre nuestros ojos, Señor Jesús, para que podamos verdaderamente verlos.

Destapa nuestros oídos, limpia nuestros pensamientos,

abre nuestros corazones.

Desata nuestros pies, extiende nuestras manos marchitas,

Para que podamos amarlos y servirlos como miembros

únicos del propio cuerpo de Cristo.

Y cuando vacilemos, cuando estemos abrumados por

nuestras propias pruebas y miedos,

Que tu Espíritu Santo descienda sobre nosotros como paloma,

Dear Lord, Holy Father/Mother/Creator of all that is, seen and unseen,

Hear our prayer for your “little ones” that we fail to see.

For captives and prisoners, and those who love them;

For the lost and the stolen,

For those hidden, trafficked and enslaved;

For those overwhelmed by sickness, despair, and poverty;

For the meek and the oppressed,

For those denied justice and mercy,

For the lepers of this Age,

Lord, hear our prayer.

 

Open our eyes, Lord Jesus, that we may truly see them.

Unstop our ears, cleanse our thoughts, open our hearts.

Unbind our feet, stretch out our withered hands,

So that we may love and serve them as precious members of Christ’s own body.

And, when we falter, when we are overwhelmed by our own trials and fears,

May your Holy Spirit descend upon us like a dove with these words:

“Truly, I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family you did it to me.”

In the dank, mirthless cells of our prisons and from war torn places around our earth come longing prayers for relief. Let us pray to remember these. Help us claim that your overcoming presence is in all the dark places of the earth, in all the borders of life and death. Let us meet you there in our prayers. Then may “justice roll down like water, and righteousness like an everlasting stream.” Amos 5:24
