The Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross denounces hatred, bigotry, and violence.

We, as Companions of the Holy Cross, are reminded of our vows that include:

  • To pray and work for social justice and peace, for the unity of all God’s people, and for the mission of God in the world.
  • To practice peacemaking and non-violence, acknowledging responsibility for the environment and for economic justice throughout the world.

Please join us in praying:

Almighty God, who created us in your own image, grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your Holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Book of Common Prayer p. 260, Collect 21 for Social Justice and printed in the 2006 Manual of the Society of the Companions of Holy Cross p. 102

As followers of the cross, we cannot resist evil by remaining silent.
