An Invitation from the Companion-in-Charge
Since 1916, Companions have gathered for refreshment and renewal at our summer retreat center, Adelynrood. While there we deepen our formation in our vows of intercessory prayer, simplicity of life and social justice. For church leaders, faithful Christians and ordinary seekers, Adelynrood offers a place apart for personal or group retreats.
Summer 2024 Programs
Carter Heyward on White Christian Nationalism. Shane Claiborne on resisting violence. Honoring the Original Stewards of the Land. Write a memoir or a poem. Knit, create, create Ukrainian eggs. Registration information here.
The Holy Routine
We begin the day with the Franciscan Canticle of the Sun. Morning Prayer, Intercessions and Compline shape the rhythm of the days at Adelynrood. Twice a week we share Eucharist in the Episcopal tradition. The house enters the Greater Silence after Compline.

Discounts for clergy and lay leaders
We particularly invite parish leaders and people who work in mission or social justice movements to Adelynrood for retreat and renewal. We offer simple, healthy meals, woods and gardens for walking meditation, ample opportunity for conversation or time alone. Contact Reservations for rates and availability.
