JOIN US IN PRAYER

Every month Companions receive a small booklet in the mail, the Intercession Paper. Day by day, we turn its pages, praying alongside our Companions from where we are. The prayers concern needs big and small, thanksgivings, and the aims of the Society. Each day of the week has a theme.

 

In this monthly feature of our blog, we select some prayers from this month’s IP, as it is called. If you’re so inclined, please join Companions in reaching out in love through prayer.

SIMPLICITY OF LIFE: MONDAY

Querido Señor, dame el don de notar mi respiración: cuando estoy jadeando o apretado, permíteme recurrir a tu don gratuito de aire fresco, para inspirarlo y exhalarlo. Dame el don de notar mi cuerpo: cuando estoy tenso y apresurado, déjame recurrir a tu don de fluidez, y permitir que mi cuerpo se conecte en movimiento equilibrado. Dame el don de darme cuenta: cuando mi visión se acorta, déjame recurrir a tu don de amplitud y contemplar el mundo que me rodea. Gracias por tus sencillos dones de aire, movimiento y luz, siempre a nuestro alrededor.

Dear Lord, give me the gift of noticing my breath: when I am panting or squeezed, let me turn to your free gift of fresh air, to breathe it in and out. Give me the gift of noticing my body: when I am tight and rushed, let me turn to your gift of fluidity, and allow my body to connect in balanced motion. Give me the gift of noticing: when my vision is shortened, let me turn to your gift of spaciousness and take in the world around me. Bendito Creador, nosotros, tus hijos, nos tambaleamos. Muchos hemos olvidado que formamos parte de una comunidad que sólo puede encontrar la paz cuando derribamos los muros que nos dividen, y tendemos las manos abiertas. Hemos caído en la autocomplacencia y el egoísmo que sólo pueden cambiar cuando miramos hacia ti para que nos ayudes a encontrar formas de reconciliarnos con nuestros hermanos, y a reparar el daño que nos hemos hecho unos a otros y a nuestro planeta. Que recordemos que tu amor no tiene fronteras, ni raza ni credo, ni sexo, ni partido político, y que todos somos tus hijos.
