SELECTED PRAYERS FROM THE MARCH 2026 INTERCESSION PAPER
Thanksgiving: Sunday and Every Day
Lord Jesus, thank you for your unconditional love and the sacrifice you made on the cross for our sins. During this Holy Lent, help us walk through this penitential season as we reflect on our lives, turning our hearts toward you as we prepare ourselves in the direction of the hope of the Resurrection, as we follow you along the Way, in the name of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Simplicity of Life: Monday
Jesus, you taught your followers to let go of their worries, to join you in caring for the well-being of their neighbors. Your servant Thomas Keating helped people understand this through the practice of letting go of our attachment to security, affection, and control, and welcoming your divine presence in each moment. Help us to loosen our grip on ourselves so we can follow the way of the cross with you, moment by moment.

Unity of All God’s People: Tuesday
Lord God, We are thankful for what peace we are able to have and ask you to help us learn from your Son to treat ourselves and others with respect and compassion. Help us to listen to others so that we can understand their needs and fears. Help us to be proactive rather than reactive when needed. Help us to truly see our neighbors and their needs and concerns. All this we ask in your Son’s name.

Social Justice: Wednesday
Heavenly Father, fix in my mind’s eye a vision of the just world that you want for all of your beloved children. Help me to truly love my neighbor as you would have me do. Guide me in understanding the things I can do to support justice now, and give me the courage to do them.

Peace & Reconciliation: Thursday
Forgiving Father, I have promised to keep your commandments. Yet, you know that I go astray, and with an unforgiving spirit show disrespect to any 11 whom I think offend me. Burn into my heart such love for you, that every day I remember to follow the way of the Cross, and become your servant of love to all whom I encounter.

Growth in Spiritual Life: Friday
Teach me to always live in the present moment. The past is gone and cannot be recaptured; The future cannot be predicted. It is the only way I can even begin to be united to the love of God.

Prayer Personal and General: Saturday
Holy One, shine your light upon our pathways. Help us to discover the moments that allow us to love mercifully, and act justly, as we walk humbly with you. Stir an awakening within us as we work to share the goodness of your loving mercy. We will remember to give you the honor as we seek to be instruments of your grace in a world longing for righteousness. In Jesus’ name we pray.
